Lean Value Stream Management - Lean Accounting - at Siemens VDO
Jens Merten, Acting Head of Finance and Business Administration, SIEMENS VDO
Jens Merten joined Siemens VDO 2000 as a Process Consultant within the Fuel Supply Systems division in Dortmund. In 2002 he moved to the Information, Management and Organisation function where he project managed the definition and implementation of a Process Management framework for the entire Siemens VDO company.
In 2005 he was assigned by the division Chief Financial Officer to work on the definition of new Business Models including Lean Value Stream Management (Lean Accounting). He has managed the implementation of lean accounting at the company’s Pisa factories through 2007
In July 2007 he was made acting Head of Finance and Business Administration for Siemens VDO Gasoline Systems division at Roding. The plant produces high pressure gasoline fuel pumps for major car manufacturers including Porsche.

Stuart joined Fullcolour.com in July 2007 and is responsible for operational excellence, lean deployment and business transformation. He joined the company having spent 5 years as Lead Practitioner at The Manufacturing Institute delivering MAS in the North West. Prior to The Manufacturing Institute Stuart has had almost 20 years experience as a leader of change and lean manufacturing specialist in a wide range of sectors from automotive, Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars, aerospace Rolls-Royce Plc and ceramics Portmeirion Potteries.

David Soreneson, Managing Director, MANUFACTURING EXTENSION PARTNERSHIP
David Sorensen has a MS degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology and B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, is a P.E. in California, Idaho & Utah and has patents in his field both domestic and foreign. Mr. Sorensen was a product manager at General Electric, manager of engineering at Bunker Ramo Space and Missile Systems, and manager of Architectural Engineering and Construction Management at Aerojet.

When Lean met the UK's Strike Carrier
Frmr. Cdr. Alan Martyn, HMS ILLUSTRIOUS
Born and educated in Scotland. Cdr Martyn graduated from Cranfield Institute in Technology with an MSc in Aircraft Design. After four years in the aerospace industry he joined the Royal Navy in 1986. In addition to his operational tours and tours in experimental flight test at Boscombe Down, he has served in the Ministry of Defence and as the Executive Assistant to the head of all UK military aviation logistic support. It was during this appointment he was introduced to LEAN, which lead to him taking LEAN to HMS ILLUSTRIOUS when in command of aviation support. He is now the Royal Navy lead for the introduction of LEAN. Alan is married to Lesley with two children Jessica (14) and Peter (10).

Lean TPM - A Blue Print for Change
Dennis McCarthy, TPM Author and Consultant, DAK CONSULTING
Dennis began his career as a continuous improvement manager covering 7 UK operations. After a period of general management he was recruited as European Project Manager for a major multi-national, before joining a major blue chip consultancy as practice leader.
Over the last 15 years Dennis has supported Lean Thinking, Total Productive Maintenance and Continuous improvement programmes ranging in size from small site, single issue improvements to company wide multi site transformation programmes in Europe, USA, India and China. This has included supporting well respected and award winning companies such as 3M, Ford, General Motors, GE, Johnson Matthey, RHM and Dow Corning.
Last year he co authored his second book “Lean TPM a blueprint for change”, with Nick Rich of Cardiff University Business School. Published by Butterworth Heinemann, sets out how the combination of Lean and TPM has been used as the delivery mechanism for winning manufacturing strategies.
